NEET PG 2023 Counselling Process

MCC will conduct the NEET PG 2023 Counselling. The counselling schedule for NEET PG will be released by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The counselling process is organised by MCC for two rounds for admission to All India Quota seats. Post this, the vacant seats will be transferred to State Quota seats, which will be filled based on the counselling organised by respective State Counselling authorities.

Once the State Quota counselling concludes, a Mop-Up counselling round by MCC will be conducted for the remaining vacant seats. NEET PG 2023 counselling registration will most likely start in February 2023. The facility to make the payment will also be available until March 2023. After the first round of seat allotment, candidates will be required to report to their allotted college/institute.

The counselling for NEET PG 2023 will be held online. Those who qualify the NEET PG exam by securing the minimum required percentile or its equivalent marks will be eligible to participate in the NEET PG counselling 2023. 

The counselling is organised on all India basis by the MCC for All India 50% quota seats whereas counselling for admission in the State Quota seats is organised by the concerned States/UT. The NEET PG 2023 counselling process will require the candidates to log in to the official website of NBE using their NEET PG Roll Number, NEET PG testing ID, name, stream, birth date, and a security pin. 

Candidates will be called for the counselling as per their ranks such as All India Rank, All India 50% Quota Category Rank, All India 50 % Quota Rank and State Quota Rank. Candidates need to fill their choice of programmes and colleges during the counselling process. Admission of candidates will depend on their rank, filled preferences, and availability of seats.

Step by Step Process of NEET PG Counselling 2023

Step 1: Registration

This is the first step for NEET-PG counselling. Qualified candidates have to enter their Roll number, Stream, Testing ID, Candidates’ name, Date of Birth and a Security pin to register themselves for counselling process. Afterwards, a Registration slip is generated indicating the details of candidates. Steps for registration are following

  • Visit the official website link.

  • Click on the “New Registration” link.

  • Register yourself for the counselling by providing login credentials such as Application Number, Roll Number, DOB, and Name.

  • After that, click on the ‘Submit’ tab.

Step 2: Login for NEET PG 2023 Counselling

  • After successful registration, you have to login with their login ID and the chosen Password.

  • Applicants will be required to submit details such as the mother’s name, father’s name and address details of the candidate.

  • Click on the ‘Submit’ tab.

Note: It must be noted that the information provided should be similar to the documents applicants will submit at the time of admission.

Step 3: Payment of Fees:

In this step of NEET PG counselling 2023, applicants will be required to submit the non-refundable registration fee. The fees can be paid only online through Credit/Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.

  • Applicants also have to pay the tuition fee which is refunded if no seats will be allotted to the candidates. The tution fees are:

  • After the successful submission of fees, the registration slip will appear on the screen. You are suggested to keep safe the printed application form for further use.

  • To continue with the process, click on the ‘Login’ button.

Step 4: Filling and Submission of Choices for NEET PG 2023 Counselling

In this step, applicants have to fill and submit their choices for NEET PG counselling purposes. Applicants have to fill the choices according to their preferences.

  • You can fill in as many options but should make sure to submit the same in the order of preference.

  • After selecting choices, applicants will be asked to click on ‘Save & Continue’ tab.

Step 5: NEET PG 2023 Mock Counselling

Here, applicants are given a mock practice of how the counselling process works, as conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The allotment of the seats is done on the basis of applicant’s choices and All India Rank.

Step 6: Choice Locking Facility for NEET PG 2023 Counselling

  • After filling the choices, applicants get an option to lock their choices by clicking on ‘Choice lock’. For choice locking of NEET PG 2023 counselling, applicants are required to enter their password.

  • After locking the choices, it is advisable to take a printout of the locked choices.

  • If the applicant does not lock the choice submitted by them, submitted choices by them will be automatically locked

Step 6: Seat Allotment for NEET PG Counselling 2023

  • After choice filling, the seat allotment process will take place.

  • The seat allotment will be done on the basis of the choices filled by applicants, availability of seats and All India Rank.

  • After seat allotment, MCC will publish the result of  1st round counselling displaying All India Rank, institute allotted, subjects, the category under which admission was granted.

Step 7: Reporting at Allotted Colleges

This is the final step of the NEET-PG counselling 2023 process. Applicants have to download the allotment letter and must report at the allotted institutes along with the relevant documents and fee.

Documents Required During NEET PG 2023 Counselling Process
  • High school/Higher Secondary Certificate/Birth certificate as proof of Birthdate

  • Mark sheet of MBBS/BDS 1, 2, and 3 Professional examinations

  • NEET PG 2023 Admit card

  • NEET PG 2023 Result

  • MBBS/BDS Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate

  • The Permanent/Provisional registration certificate issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC). The provisional registration certificate is applicable only for the candidates who are likely to complete the internship on or before March 31, 2023.

  • Institute completion certificate or the certificate from the head of the institution stating that the candidate has completed the internship by March 31, 2023.

  • Identification proofs to the allotted colleges – Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving license, Aadhaar card

Important Instructions for NEET PG Counselling

  • As per the schedule released for NEET PG 2023 counsellling, candidates must participate online.

  • If a candidate is unable to attend the first round of counselling of NEET PG 2023, then they can attend the second round. 

  • In the case, a seat is allotted during Round 1, candidates are required to join the allotted institution/college and complete the admission formalities then the only candidate can exercise an option to participate in the next round (2nd Round).

  • If there is a discrepancy in spelling in documents candidate must carry proof that the documents belong to the same person, in form of an affidavit/undertaking.

  • The vacant seats will be offered to the candidate listed next in the merit list. If one does not get a programme of choice in the first round of NEET PG 2023 counselling, they can attend the next session and request an upgrade.
